Niels Bohr stood at the center of the exciting story of physics in the early part of the twentieth century. A major mover and shaker, Bohr helped shape the field both through his own discoveries and thoughtful probing and through his influence. He scrabbled lovingly with Einstein. At his Institute for the Theoretical Physics in Copenhagen, he kindled inspiration for the next generation of researchers, including Heisenberg, Pauli, Dirac, and others.
